Andy Danylchuk, Ph.D.
Andy is on a crusade to ensure that fish are around for future generations to enjoy. He helped to build the Cape Eleuthera Institute in the Bahamas, where he and a group of colleagues continue to pioneer research on the catch and release of bonefish. He also researches many other species including the golden mahseer. Andy holds a doctorate in environmental biology and ecology and a masters in watershed ecosystems management. He earned a distinguished teaching award at UMass Amherst where he is pioneering a cross-disciplinary program at the convergence of science, business, and media. Andy also serves on multiple advisory boards and is an ambassador of the Patagonia brand. His treatise on responsible fish handling informed the angling techniques for our expedition (and for the future of catch-and-release fishing).
